Why Morning Star?
The name Morning Star was chosen for our kids pediatrics center to give honor to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and to ask for her intercession for our staff, our patients, and their families. We’re proud to be a Catholic pediatrician serving Gilbert, AZ and the surrounding area.
According to Catholic tradition, the title of Morning Star is given to the Blessed Mother of our Lord. Just as the morning star announces the coming of the day, appearing in the sky and reflecting the light of the sun, “Mary appeared on the horizon of salvation history before Christ,”¹ and shows us the way to Him. She reflects the light of the Creator and Redeemer and exalts His glory.
When Mary came first before Jesus, she helped to light the world by declaring that salvation has come through the redemptive light of Jesus. As such, Mary plays a central role in our salvation. She had to enter the world first in order to bring Christ into it.
At Morning Star Pediatrics, we recognize that Mary points the way to Christ, the Divine Healer. We hope to follow her example of courage, humility, and fidelity in our practice to bring the healing ministry of Christ to our patients and their families.
We can think of no better name for a kids pediatrics center, because Mary is the Mother of us all.
